KACEF

Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics of University of Banja Luka (KACEF), as a sub-organizational unit of Faculty of Economics, has been established in 2017 as a successor of Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics, by the Decision of the Steering Committee of the University of Banja Luka. The Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics of the University of Banja Luka is established thanks to cooperation between US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka through the project “A Step Forward to Youth Employability” which was realized during 2017/2018 academic year.

The Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics is stablished with a goal of providing support to students of Faculty of Economics of University of Banja Luka during their studies in acquiring and enriching their knowledge, skills and competences which are necessary condition for success in business community. The Centre enables establishment of sustainable relationships between academics and business community which generate mutual benefits through additional training and specialization of students, researchers and academic stuff; the opportunity for internships and gaining first work experience for students and easier access to high quality employees for employers.

All students of final year of the studies and those who earned their BA, MA or PhD degrees at the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka can become the members of the Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka. The purpose of establishing the Career and Alumni Centre at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka is the improvement of the quality of teaching and research process, improvement of the exchange of experiences between the business and scientific communities, affirmation of scientists and young researchers, promotion of importance of continuous education and training, the organization of training and internships for students of Faculty of Economics of University of Banja Luka, realization of projects that are socially useful and stimulate employment, self-employment, economic growth, and others.

Vision

The vision of Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka is to become a place for continuous upgrade of knowledge and its exchange through creation of stimulating environment and proactive approach in solving the problems which experience recently graduated students and business community representatives.

Mission

The mission of Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka is to establish and maintain the cooperation between academic and business communities. With help of competent and motivated academic stuff the Centre intends to actively contribute to growth of quality of knowledge and skills of graduated student and their easier integration into the real sector.

Goals

Main goals of existence and performance of Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka are:

  • establishment and maintenance of a permanent connection between the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka and its students after their graduation;
  • using the web platform of Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka, invitation of all former students of the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka to join the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics in order to enable their mutual cooperation;
  • creation of a database of graduate students, masters and PhDs of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka,
  • creation of database of employers interested for offering internship positions to students and eventually the work placements
  • development of cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and companies and institutions in which former students are engaged;
  • motivation and promotion of members of the Alumni Centre in the context of encouraging professional and scientific and research activities;
  • participation in international scientific and professional exchange and establishment of cooperation with Alumni associations from the region and beyond;
  • affirmation of the position and role of economic profession in the development of society;
  • assessment of the quality of the teaching process according to a survey done by former students.
  • improvement of the work of the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka as an educational and scientific and research institution in terms of possessing adequate and timely information that can be provided by the members of the Alumni Centre;
  • the building of specific competences, knowledge and skills of students of Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka in order to improve their positioning on the labour market and help them to develop their careers
  • Enhancement of innovation, proactivity and entrepreneurship among students.

Activities

  • Providing all final year students, graduate students, masters and PhDs of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka with on line registration (using the web platform of Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics), quick and efficient access to information and establishment of mutual contacts
  • Organization of round tables, seminars, conferences, etc. which will be focused on current economic and society problems
  • Organization of trainings for members of Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics
  • Organization of meetings between members of Career and Alumni Centre of Faculty of Economics and current students of Faculty of Economics with goal of sharing of experiences and knowledge
  • Organization of meetings of members of the Career and Alumni Centre (e.g. annual celebrations and marking important dates for the Alumni Centre and the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka and the like.);
  • Cooperation with other Alumni associations and other organizations related to the economic profession in the country and abroad (e.g. Association of Economists, Association of Accountants and Auditors, Entrepreneurship Center, etc.);
  • Organization of trainings for Career and Alumni Centre members which would take place abroad (travel programs, etc.)
  • providing special privileges in terms of access to the library, possibility to search the databases (scientific and research information), online catalogues, bibliographies, etc.

Membership in the Alumni Centre, Rights and Obligations

All those who are students of final year of studies at Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka, who have earned BA, MA or PhD degrees at the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka and employers can become regular members of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics.

One can become a regular member by voluntarily signing in the on line application form by which he/she accepts the objectives, rights and obligations established by a special act of the Alumni Centre.

Access (membership) to the Career and Alumni Centre is free of charge.

A person who has contributed in particular to the development and reputation of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka, by their work and commitment, can become an honorary member, which will be regulated by a special act.

A member of the Career and Alumni Centre of the University of Banja Luka has the right to:

  • make suggestions and give opinions on the work of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics;
  • launch initiatives for the work of Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics;
  • be informed about the work of Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics;
  • suggest new honorary members of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics.

A member of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka is obliged to:

  • pursue the objectives and tasks of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics;
  • implement the decisions and conclusions of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics;
  • promote the work of the Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics.

The Career and Alumni Centre of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka can give recognitions and commendations to its members, individuals and legal persons for the special contribution to the work of the Career and Alumni Centre, which will be regulated by a special act.

Николина Бошњак
Nikolina Bosnjak

Nikolina Bosnjak is currently employed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Quantitative Analysis and Informatics of faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka. She obtained her PhD and Master of Science degree from Sapienza University of Rome, where she was engaged as a researcher. Beside this, she is the manager of the project “A Step Forward to Youth Employability” and a member of organizing committee of REDETE International Conference. Fluent in English and Italian language.

Matea Zlatkovic
Matea Zlatkovic

Matea Zlatković, doctoral candidate, is employed as a senior assistant at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, in the field of theoretical economics. She finished her master studies at the Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka, and currently she is working on her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade. She has extensive experience in scientific research and has participated in several domestic and international projects.

Siniša Rakita

Siniša Rakita is currently employed as Head of the student service of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka. She obtained his Master of Science degree from Faculty of Economics at the University of Banja Luka. Beside this, he is the secretary of the editorial board of the scientific journal Acta Economica. Fluent in English language.
