Alumni Meeting Held

As part of the celebration marking 50 years of work and development of the Faculty of Economics, the Career and Alumni Center organized the event "Alumni Meeting" on Monday, February 3rd.

The event was attended by numerous graduates in economics, master's and doctoral degree holders, as well as representatives of business organizations that continuously support the teaching process and contribute to improving study conditions at the Faculty of Economics.

In his opening speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Milenko Krajinšnik, expressed his satisfaction with the significant response from alumni and partner organizations to the Faculty's invitation to jointly commemorate this important anniversary. Prof. Dr. Matea Zlatković Radaković, Head of the Career and Alumni Center, addressed the attendees, encouraging all alumni and corporate representatives to continue fostering a strong connection with the Faculty of Economics. She emphasized their role in enhancing the quality of the academic process and creating a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences between academia and the business community for the overall benefit of society and the advancement of education for future generations of students.

During the event, Golden Indexes were awarded to a selected group of representatives from the first student generations who completed their undergraduate studies in 1978 and 1979, earning the title of graduate economists. These indexes were presented as a memento of both the beginnings of the Faculty of Economics and the student days of these alumni.

On behalf of the first-generation alumni, Prof. Dr. Rajko Tomaš—himself an alumnus and the first academician of the Faculty of Economics—addressed the audience. He reflected on his student days, highlighting the significance and role of strong alumni collaboration in career development.

Following the presentation of appreciation awards to business organizations for their support in the growth and development of the Faculty of Economics, Mr. Milan Božić, an alumnus of the Faculty and a representative of the business sector, spoke about the importance of continuous cooperation between the business and academic communities, as well as the need to nurture lasting connections with the Faculty of Economics.

After the official part of the meeting, an informal gathering took place, allowing alumni to share authentic experiences and reminisce about their student days.

The "Alumni Meeting" provided an opportunity to renew relationships and strengthen ties between alumni and the business community.
